ClaimSurance is an independent research and consulting initiative focused on how artificial intelligence is transforming property insurance claims.
As insurers increasingly adopt automation, algorithmic triage, and AI-assisted decision systems, the need for independent analysis and oversight has become more important than ever. ClaimSurance was created to examine how these technologies operate in real-world claim environments and to help ensure that policyholders, insurers, and regulators understand both their capabilities and their limitations.
Our work focuses on three core areas:
AI Stress Tests
Simulated claim scenarios designed to evaluate how AI systems interpret loss events, coverage triggers, and claim documentation.
Failure Library
Documentation and analysis of claim handling failures and process breakdowns that reveal potential risks in automated decision systems.
Consulting
Independent advisory services for organizations seeking to evaluate or improve AI-assisted claims processes.
The goal of ClaimSurance is simple:
to promote gold standard claim analysis in the age of artificial intelligence.
Founder
ClaimSurance was founded by Preston Brady III, an insurance claims professional with extensive experience in property loss adjusting and catastrophe claim operations.
Over the course of his claims career, Preston handled tens of thousands of property claims across multiple policy types, including:
-
Homeowner claims
-
Landlord property claims
-
Renter claims
-
Condominium claims
-
Personal property claims
He has experience working with insureds, contractors, attorneys, and public adjusters throughout the claim process.
During his adjusting career he held more than 30 adjuster licenses across multiple states and was recognized as an A-rated adjuster within his organization.
Preston also worked extensively in catastrophe response operations, where he specialized in complex property losses and Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims.
His background includes experience working directly with policyholders as well as collaborating with public adjusters representing insureds, providing a broad perspective on how claims are handled from multiple sides of the process.
He currently holds a New York State All-Lines Adjuster License.
Structure
ClaimSurance currently operates as an independent initiative led by Preston Brady III.
Business operations are conducted through Grady Brady, LLC, a registered business entity.
Mission
The insurance industry is entering a period of rapid technological change as artificial intelligence becomes integrated into claim handling systems.
While automation can improve efficiency and speed, it also introduces new risks if complex claim decisions are handled without adequate oversight.
ClaimSurance exists to explore those risks and promote responsible use of technology in insurance claim analysis.
Our mission is to help ensure that the principles of careful investigation, accurate coverage interpretation, and fair claim handling remain central to the claims process — even as technology evolves.
